If you have questions on private wells/springs, please go to www.HealthVermont.gov/water/drought. This page has information about ways to conserve water, temporary solutions for getting safe drinking water, and information about possible avenues for financial assistance to develop a more drought-resistant water supply.
If you have a water supply issue, submit it via the drought reporter (https://experience.arcgis.com/experience/1d3753b053804415bd0fd00a813a115f/page/Welcome). It is a simple form that the State uses to gather information about where support and resources may be needed.
The Vermont Department of Forests, Parks & Recreation has issued an order for all Town Forest Fire Wardens to cease issuing burning permits from noon on September 22, 2025 until this order is revoked.

Westmore Transfer Station No Longer Accepts Refrigerators, Freezers, AC Units, Car & Boat Batteries.
Residents are able to dispose of these items at the Lyndonville Recycling Center, 224 Church St, Lyndonville
Did you know that the town of Westmore has a Town Forest on Long Pond Road? This 294 acre parcel is owned by the Town of Westmore, and is accessed from the town gravel pit off Long Pond Road. The town is currently working with the Orleans County Forester to develop an updated Forest Management Plan, and we would like the community’s input. Please come and join Jared Nunery (Orleans County Forester) and representatives of the town to learn more about this land, and share your thoughts on the management goals and objectives for this land. The meeting will take place at the Westmore Community Church Fellowship Hall (37 Hinton Hill Rd, Westmore) on Tuesday August 19th from 4:30 to 5:30PM to learn more about the inventory of land and the draft Forest Management Plan. Long Pond Road will be closed July 28 through August 9 from the Willoughby Lake Store to the Fishing Access.
